Introduction

The development of new technologies in the workplace like teleworking has led to employee autonomy and mobility and high levels of productivity (Dunn, 2016). Working time management has also improved, and it has also resulted in the introduction of new and better opportunities for many types of employees with few geographical restraints. Teleworking refers to working away from the office; it has become increasingly prevalent in many organizations around the world.

Teleworking has led to the rapid improvement of working and living conditions for employees and a flexible working time for the balance of work, family, and recreational activities. For employers, teleworking has led to a reduction of costs incurred during the provision of office equipment, and also less time is used for the supervision of employees, this time can be used for more important duties for the organization (Dunn, 2016). The time used to travel from home to work and back has also been eliminated through teleworking leading to increasing productivity, employees are highly motivated since they are not under supervision but need to perform well to get approval from their employers.

The nature of organizations has been changed through teleworking since met activities are now being done from home, only the headquarters are built centrally, but all other activities are done remotely from the offices. Employees can work for more than one company since they control their flexibility and are under no supervision.

Conclusion

Teleworking has helped increase production while at the same time improving the balance between work and family for the employees. Also, the nature of many organizations has changed because there are no offices for employees, only company headquarters are centrally located for communication between the employees.
